My name’s Jonathan Rich and for 20 years I wrote television scripts. Now that I’m writing novels, it’s time for a change — so J J Rich it is.

My first novel, BAGMAN, came out on Amazon in July 2023. It’s a story about Andy Hughes, a guy who works in a music store, and his dreams of making it as a pro guitarist. It came about because I love guitars and as a result of all the time I’ve spent talking to guys who work in music stores. The book kind of wrote itself.

My third novel, WOKE UP THIS MORNING, is a different kind of story about playing the guitar and looks at how obsessive the dream can be. But that it’s for now with the guitars. My next novel, HOW HARD CAN IT BE?, which came out on 1st June 2024, is a romantic comedy with no guitars anywhere in sight!

THE BLOODY BROTHERS, was another change of direction - a vampire novel, which was a lot of fun to write. And to me, that’s the most important thing. The moment I cease to enjoy writing, I promise I’ll stop! Vampires turned out to be so much fun that my next novel, THE DARK AMBASSADORS, continues the vampire brothers’ story but going back time to 1808.

And now something completely different — U WISH! a comedy set in a Catholic primary school, with absolutely no guitars of vampires.
